web work: creation moments

CMI is one of the first client I got to deal with. The site had gone through several versions already. There was a lot of content, custom programming and third party applications that made it function. But it was time for a change.
design
The client really gave free reign in just about everything for the concept. Natural imagery was one thing the client wanted to make sure to emphasize. I worked with a small team of designers to make this concept exactly what the client wanted. It went through brainstorming sessions, meetings with the client, live tweaking, and several variations.
The logo was also updated, combining old elements with a new 'updated' look that the client loved.
Imagery was found on stock photography sites and purchased in a way that it could also use it on several print pieces for the client.
site info
This website has a CMS system installed so the client can update the text. There is also newsletter capabilities integrated. Several custom programming pieces were created with the help of programmers.
A new open source shopping cart system called Zen Cart was installed, styled, and all old site data was imported in. I trained the client on working both the CMS/Newsletter system and the shopping cart system in order for them to manage all of this themselves.
